We are holding our 7th Annual Purple Passion Gala to End Lupus on November 21, 2015 at the National Press Club from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. The Purple Passion Gala is our premier fundraising event. Guests enjoy cocktails, live and silent auctions, a fabulous dinner and hours of live music. Gala proceeds transcend the evening, allowing us to fund critical research and provide community and pain-management services throughout the year.

The Lupus Hero Award is a prestigious honor given annually to a remarkable individual who performs extraordinary deeds that strengthen the lupus community. This award recognizes passionate individuals who spearhead initiatives that get us one step closer to solving the cruel mystery of lupus and demonstrate courage, conviction, and tenacity that we will find answers that lead us to a cure. This year we would like to recognize Pamela B. Greenberg and Dr. Arthur Weinstein as our Lupus Heroes. Their outstanding contributions over the years have allowed the chapter and our local lupus community to thrive.

Lupus is a chronic, potentially fatal autoimmune disease in which few treatment options exist. This cruel disease has a range of symptoms, can strike without warning, and has no known cause and no known cure. LFA-DMV provides education, support and resources for lupus patients and their families who suffer from this little known disease that has a devastating impact on their lives. Our Patient Navigation Program connects those living with this terrible disease with resources to enhance healthcare delivery, and it gives them the confidence to take charge of their disease and live well with lupus. Your financial support of the LFA-DMV, through events such as the Purple Passion Gala is critical to sustain these programs.
